San Francisco, California, in the county of San Francisco, is home of 815,201 residents in the city proper, per the 2021 census. It is proudly the commercial, financial, and cultural center of Northern California. The Bay Area is home of four of the world’s ten largest companies by market capitalization, and San Francisco’s city proper is home of well-known companies such as Wells Fargo, Uber, Gap, Dropbox, Airbnb, and Twitter.
